Repro Rights

In the process of researching for a PP article I'm writing on current legislation that compromises organizations that offer abortion services, refers patients to doctors who will perform abortion, or even MENTIONS that abortion is an option, I found the following articles from The Nation, The Boston Globe, and The Washington Post.

Dubya wants to do a "swan song" dig at reproductive rights, and he is, of course, fully supported by right-wing religious groups who are hounding him to 1. expand the definition of "abortion" to include birth control methods (because they prevent implantation and therefore equal abortion?!?!?). This move is, some speculate, a precursor to Dubya's administration trying to re-implement a Reagan-era gag rule that discontinues federal funding to any organization that offers or refers to abortion services. These organizations provide vital repro health care to mostly impoverished people and provide, at times, the only affordable access to family planning and repro health care.

It's a bit scary to me.
