Getting There
So, I'm getting there. I have just one week left of summer school and then grading finals and then I'm done. This has been the most grueling teaching experience EVER. I am glad it is done and even gladder for the paycheck!
I prepping for our big annual camping trip August 3-6. So far, Michael, D, his new girl, Seth, Adam, his girl, Jessica K, Eli, and I are going. I CANNOT WAIT! We're camping at Mammoth Lakes, so there will be hiking and swimming during the day and bar hopping and star-gazing at night. D and I are also tossing around the idea of a trek up to Yosemite in early October, right before he leaves (Sarah and Eric???).
I've been on two dates in the past two weeks and I have decided that it's not worth my time right now. I am completely underwhelmed by what the IE has to offer and honestly feel that I am happier spending time with my friends than I am meeting some guy who is either completely boring or a complete pig (I'm telling you, there should be an IQ requirement--and since when did men think they can call you at 1 in the morning after you've just told them "no"?!?). I would much rather focus on what's real (my friendships, my dissertation, starting yoga, running again) and let the rest happen organically.
I also met with Kevin's mom for the first time since the separation. It was hard, but it was really good to see her. Samantha's baptism is on Sunday, so I have the entire Macias and Ridenour clan to look forward to. I think it will be exhausting but wholly rewarding.
