El Vez!

Ohmigod! I just saw a notice on campus that El Vez is performing at UCR on February 10th! Dane and I went to the bar in homage to El Vez whilst in Philadelphia. It was awesome, but hilarious because we asked the bartender (after ordering these incredible prickly pear margaritas) if he'd ever met or seen El Vez. He said, "yeah! But man! He's really tiny!" After shooting a knowing glance at one another, we just said, "yes, yes he is!" See, El Vez is a drag king (for those not already acquainted) so we thought it was great that this bartender, who worked in the El Vez bar, was fooled. El Vez is really that good, my friends, let me tell you. So, for those of you who are local, expect an enthusiastic and hounding e-mail from me in February, asking you if you want to go see him perform!
